Starter or battery?
A weak battery gives you rapid clicking and dim lights. A bad starter usually gives one solid click, or nothing, while the dash lights stay bright. Sometimes tapping the starter gets one more start, which is a strong hint.
How the repair works
We test battery voltage, cables and the starter signal. If the starter has failed, we quote the job with parts and labor. Most starters can be replaced in a driveway or parking lot. A few vehicles bury them deep enough that we'll tell you up front if it's a bigger job.
